Christian Post Report – Leaked images of the LG G4

LG’s highly anticipated smartphone flagship, the LG G4, is slated to be officially unveiled this month.

However, for what it is considered to be a “major leak” incident, it was cited by a slew of tech websites that a series of “official images and specs” for the forthcoming device were seen posted on LG’s product page. The page went live for some hours and was later on taken down.

Luckily, websites like the GSM Arena, was able to get a hold of the pictures and here are some of the details in their report.

The press images of the LG G next-gen phone shows a “genuine leather” cover which are apparently available in different colors.

Aside from the premium phone cover variant, the South Korean tech giant’s product will also come with the regular plastic back cover. These versions, with “squarish texture,” will be shipped in dark gray, white, and gold color choices.

One of the reported highlights about the LG flagship is its “durable, sleek” Slim Arc Design which, as described by LG in their page, will offer a “natural, comfortable, and firm grip” to the users.

As of its display specs, earlier reports dished out that the G4 will have a 5.5-inch screen. As indicated in the screen captures (via GSM Arena), the new device will sport what they call the IPS Quantum Display technology which seeks to “deliver brilliant, crisp images rich and authentic in color.”

The company even went to describe the new display feature to be “remarkably energy efficient” and the screen is claimed to be “visible even in bright light.”

The unit will also have better power thanks to its 3,000mAh battery. It will also house an SD card slot.

The LG G4 officially measures 149.1 x 75.3 x 8.9mm in dimension. Details about its camera, processor and RAM size are yet to be confirmed.

LG’s LG G4 will debut to the public on April 28.

This signalled the beginning of the ceremonial events, and has been followed by a ‘powdering’ ceremony – when members of the families from both sides anoint the couple with powder and scented oil on the palms of their hand – and a gifting ceremony.

Charity Commission to continue statutory inquiry into Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation

The investigation into the Manchester New Moston Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses will go on after the charity tribunal rejected an appeal

Manchester New Moston Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses

The Charity Commission can continue its statutory inquiry into concerns including safeguarding at a Manchester Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation after the charity tribunal rejected an appeal against the opening of the investigation.

The regulator opened a statutory inquiry into the Manchester New Moston Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in June, to look at issues including the charity’s trustees’ compliance with their legal duties, the charity’s management of risks to its beneficiaries, and its safeguarding policy, procedures and practice.

The move came after it emerged that victims of sexual abuse by a former trustee of the congregation had been required to meet and answer questions from their abuser, who had just been released from the prison he was given for abusing them, a tribunal document shows.

In July, the trustees launched an appeal at the charity tribunal against the opening of the inquiry.

The tribunal has today published a decision, reached on 9 April following a hearing on 10 March, not to allow a review of the opening of statutory inquiry.

The decision says the tribunal did not accept the charity’s claims that the commission had infringed the trustees’ rights to religion and association under the Human Rights Act 1998, and that the commission had acted inconsistently with its normal approach in cases involving sexual abuse.

Following the concerns raised about safeguarding at the New Moston congregation, the commission also opened a statutory inquiry into the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain, the national governing body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The WTBTSB’s tribunal also appealed against it being investigated, and its tribunal appeal was also rejected.

Assassin’s Creed Movie Starts Production, Brings in Marion Cotillard

Assassin's Creed Movie Poster 2016 Scified/File

Christian Post Report – Michael Fassbender to play the main protagonist in the movie adaptation of the video-game “Assassin’s Creed,” set for release on December 21, 2016.

The latest video-game movie adaptation that has gamers raving about is Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed. The film, which started production and will start shooting soon, is slated for release in December of 2016.

Gaining popularity since the announcement of the adaptation, Assassin’s Creed is highly anticipated as the most promising video game-based films, thanks to the high level of influence that Ubisoft is giving production outfits New Regency and 20th Century Fox.

An interesting point of the film is the participation of Michael Fassbender, notable for his roles in “X-Men: The First Class” and “X-Men: Days of the Future Past” as the young Magneto. He also received a nomination for his role in the highly acclaimed 2013 film, “12 Years a Slave”. The German-Irish actor will play both roles as Desmond Miles (present day) and Ezio Auditore (Assassin ancestor). Fassbender, aside from being the main protagonist, is also one of the film’s producers.

A good indication that the film is in full swing is the recent announcement from Deadline magazine that French actress, Marion Cotillard will join the cast in an unspecified role. Cotillard is best known for her roles in “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Inception.” The actress received her Academy Award from portraying Edith Piaf in the 2007 biopic “La Vie en Rose.”

Cotillard and Fassbender previously worked together in the upcoming “Macbeth.” Assassin’s Creed will reunite them with director Justin Kurzel.

The Assassin’s Creed film will follow the life of Desmond Miles, a bartender kidnapped by the corporation and forcefully subjected to the Animus – a machine that allows him to relive the life and times of his ancestor, Altair, an Assassin in the Middle East. As Miles relives his ancestor’s life, he will come to discover the rivalry between two ancient secret societies and how it affects his present life.

Officially in production, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed is under 20th Century Fox and New Regency and will hit theaters on December 21, 2016.

ISIS Threatens US in New Video: ‘Today There Is No Safety for Any American on the Globe’

ISIS (Photo: Reuters/Social media via Reuters TV)

Men in orange jumpsuits purported to be Egyptian Christians held captive by the Islamic State kneel in front of armed men along a beach said to be near Tripoli, in this still image from an undated video made available on social media on February 15, 2015. Islamic State released the video on Sunday purporting to show the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians kidnapped in Libya. In the video, militants in black marched the captives to a beach that the group said was near Tripoli. They were forced down onto their knees, then beheaded. Egypt’s state news agency MENA quoted the spokesman for the Coptic Church as confirming that 21 Egyptian Christians believed to be held by Islamic State were dead.

Christian Post Report – ISIS has released a new propaganda video warning Americans that there is “no safety” for any citizen, and threatening another Sept. 11-style attack.

“America thinks it’s safe because of the geographical location,” the video states. “Thus you see it invades the Muslim lands, and it thinks that the army of the Jihad won’t reach in their lands. But the dream of the American to have safety became a mirage. Today there is no safety for any American on the globe. The mujahedeen before, although they had less resources, attacked New York and bombed the Twin Towers in September 11 attacks. That blessed incursion was a fatal blow. All praise is due to Allah, the American economy was shaken.”

The video also features footage of ISIS’ attacks throughout the Middle East as well as the planes flying into the Twin Towers. The attack on Canada’s Parliament Hill was also featured in the video, as was the testimony of French gunman Amedy Coulibably, who took part in the French massacres earlier this year. ISIS’ multiple beheadings and the burning of Jordanian pilot Muadh al-Kasasbeh are also featured in the video.

“In such a way Americans lived, and by Allah’s willing, the fear will spread among them again soon. Here it’s America now losing billions still to make sure their country is safe. But today, it’s time for payback. By the grace of Allah, today the mujahedeen are much more stronger (sic) and they have more resources. Thus, they are able to burn [the] United States again,” the video concludes.”

This is not the first time that ISIS has released a video threatening America. In Jan., the terrorist organization threatened to behead President Barack Obama; it featured a jihadist standing over a Kurdish soldier who was then beheaded. Right before that, the ISIS member issued a stark warning: “Know, oh Obama, that we will reach America. Know also that we will cut off your head in the White House and transform America into a Muslim province.”

The terrorist group burned down the homes of 10 Christian families in Nineveh on Tuesday, April 7. It’s the latest in a disturbing trend of setting up traps so that Christians returning to their homes will be killed upon entry. ISIS has specificially targeted Christians and other religious and ethnic minorities in order to establish an Islamic caliphate.

“Some of the houses in the village are burned. Some are bombed and destroyed. Some are robbed. We heard of one man who tried to enter his house and as soon as he opened the door, the house exploded,” a Christian man named Ayad said in a video interview with the World Council of Churches. “As ISIS forces leave, they are planting explosions inside the houses so that if people return they will be victims of the blast.”

Hindu Extremist Leader Calls for Christians to Be Forcefully Sterilized to Control Population; Demands Hindu Gods Placed in Churches

India (Photo: Reuters/Danish Siddiqui)

A protester holds a placard during a rally by hundreds of Christians against recent attacks on churches nationwide, in Mumbai, February 9, 2015. Five churches in the Indian capital New Delhi have reported incidents of arson, vandalism and burglary. The latest was reported last week when an individual stole ceremonial items.

Christian Post Report – A Hindu extremist leader in India has called on Christians and Muslims in the country to be forcefully sterilized in order to control their growing populations, and called for Hindu gods and goddesses to be placed in churches and mosques.

“The population of Muslims and Christians is growing day by day. To rein in this, Centre will have to impose emergency, and Muslims and Christians will have to be forced to undergo sterilization so that they cannot increase their number,” said Sadhvi Deva Thakur, vice president of All India Hindu Mahasabha, according to Fides News Agency.

Thakur called on Hindus to have more children to increase their population, and said that “idols of Hindu gods and goddesses should be placed in mosques and churches.”

Christians and other religious minorities have faced persecution in India, with churches reporting a number of attacks in the past several months.

Back in February, nearly 200 Christian demonstrators were arrested in New Delhi for protesting against the series of attacks on Christian places of worship, arguing that the government is not doing enough to crack down on religious violence.

What is more, the Christian population of India has been on the rise, while a recent global survey projected that by 2050, India will overtake Indonesia as the home of the largest Muslim population in the world.

The Pew Research Center’s report additionally found that Muslims register the highest fertility rates in the world, with an average of 3.1 children per woman, while Christians registered 2.7 children per woman. Both these numbers were higher than the Hindu fertility rate of 2.4.

The Global Council of Indian Christians responded to Thakur’s comments by calling them “nonsense,” and said that such ideology promotes hostility toward minority communities in India.

GCIC President Sajan George argued that Thakur “should be arrested for sedition and xenophobia.”

“The statements are an insult to secular India and also to religious freedom in the nation,” George added.

“These attacks on minorities are anti-constitutional. We ask the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, to intervene and ensure the safety of all citizens and all the communities that make up the Indian society.”

In January, watchdog group Open Doors blamed Hindu extremism for the rise of persecution against Christians in India, ranking the country 21st on its annual World Watch List.
