Houston Rockets NBA 2015 News, Rumors: Howard Back in the Line-Up, Beverly to Undergo Surgery

After getting Dwight Howard back from several weeks of absence due to injury, the Houston Rockets again received bad news.

Christian Post Report – According to ESPN, Rockets starting point guard Patrick Beverley could undergo surgery, and possibly end his season prematurely. Beverley tore his ligaments in his left wrist during the team’s win against Indiana. The injury reportedly caused swelling and pain.

The guard reportedly consulted a doctor in Houston, but is looking for other options for the treatment of his injury. According to an insider, the entire team is hoping that a favorable prognosis would be needed after a re-evaluation of the injury.

Beverley, who is averaging 10.1 points and 3.4 assists a game, would be a huge loss for Houston in the backcourt. Not known for his offensive prowess, the 26-year-old guard is among the team’s best defenders and guard stoppers.

Meanwhile, in case Beverley does undergo surgery, he would be sidelined for the rest of the season.

Taking his place would be veterans Jason Terry and Pablo Prigioni. Unfortunately for the Rockets, the two has not adjusted yet.

During Houston’s match against New Orleans, Terry only registered two points and three assists in 27 minutes. Meanwhile, Prigioni did a little better with his two points and four assists in 20 minutes.

Unfortunately, those numbers and performances may not be enough to back-up James Harden in his scoring, especially during the playoffs.

Blackberry Classic Release Date News: Popular QWERTY Handset Hits Indonesian Market, How Much Would It Cost?

More than a year ago, who would have thought we would still be talking about Blackberry and its new smartphones?

Christian Post Report – Current CEO John Chen has definitely done a wonderful job in keeping the Canada-based manufacturer very much alive, especially in its loyal fanbase in Asia.

And now, after months of waiting, the Blackberry Classic will finally hit Indonesia.

According to the report by GSM Arena, the QWERTY-powered smartphone is now available in the Asian market for IDR 55,99,000 or about $431. That price tag is reportedly cheaper than the one in India, which costs about $517.

The Blackberry Classic is one part of a two-smartphone combo that the manufacturer unleashed late last year.

The other one is the Blackberry Passport, which boasts a strange combination of a 4.5-inch square display with 1,440 x 1,400 resolution, and a full-size QWERTY keypad.

The device has some pretty powerful specs including a Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM and a 13MP primary camera.

The Classic on the other hand, is the more budget-friendly of the two. It packs a 3.5-inch display with half the resolution of its bigger sibling.

Other specs of the Blackberry Classic include a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus chipset, a 1.2GHz CPU, and surprisingly a 2GB RAM.

Rounding up the specs sheet is 16GB expandable storage, BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 out of the box and a 2,515 mAh battery.

Christian Post Report – South’s top two teams meet for a spot in the Final Four as the Duke Blue Devils meet the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament on Sunday. The game has a start time of 5:05 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the CBS network or online through live stream (details below).

Duke entered the tournament as number one in the South and displayed their dominance in their second-round match against Robert Morris.

They opened the game early and jumped to a 42-25 lead at the half to eventually finish the game with a 85-56 win.

Two Blue Devils scored more than 20 points as Quinn Cook dropped 22 and shot 6-of-10 from beyond the arc as Jahlil Okafor added 21 and only missed two of his 11 shot attempts in the game.

As a team, Duke drained 63% of their shots from the field to pull away against the Colonials.

In the third round, they met San Diego State and it was a similar story. They won 68-49 with Okafor dominating the game with 26 points and shot 12-of-16 from the field.

Duke held the Aztecs to only 33% shooting from the field while the Blue Devils continued their hot shooting with a 55% conversion rate.

In the Sweet 16, Duke faced-off against Utah and the fifth-seeded team made things a little more interesting.

Duke managed to still get the 63-57 win thanks to Justise Winslow’s double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.

He also shot 8-of-13 from the field while Tyus Jones and Cook combined for 26 points as the duo attacked the rim to go to the line a combined 18 times.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga ranked second in the region and faced 15th North Dakota State in the second round. The Bulldogs moved on behind 23 points from Kyle Wiltjer. Four of the starters finished with double digits in scoring as they shot 52% from the field and forced the Bisons to turn the ball over 13 times.

In the third round they eliminated Iowa after a big 87-68 win, as they were led by Wiltjer’s 24 points in 25 minutes of play. The forward shot 10-of-12 from the field and his only misses were two from beyond the arc but sank his other four attempts.

Gonzaga shared the ball well as the doubled Iowa’s 10 assists in the game to complete the route.

And in the previous round, the Bulldogs faced the tough UCLA Bruins in Texas. They withstood excellent games from Tony Parker and Norman Powell and countered with four players reaching double figures in scoring.

Przemek Karnowski led the team with 18 points, while Domantas Sabonis was a spark off he bench as he contributed 12 points in 21 minutes of play.

The win gave Gonzaga their first Elite Eight berth since the 1999 season.

NASCAR 2015 News, Rumors: Slugger Labbe Fined and Suspended

Duck Commander will sponsor the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway in April.

NASCAR has suspended Crew Chief Slugger Labbe of the no. 33 race team for three weeks and fined him $50,000. Labbe will also be placed on probation through the end of 2015 and car owner Joe Falk has been docked 25 car owner points. All of these punishments stem from violations on the no. 33 car driven last week in California by Brian Scott.

The no. 33 team was outside the NASCAR rule book for having an unapproved truck trailer arm installation and it was a P4 rules violation that is among the most serious offenses. NASCAR also levied a penalty for actions detrimental to stock car racing which is the racing leagues personal conduct penalty. NASCAR confiscated the pieces after the car failed its pre race inspection. Scott qualified for the race in the 25th spot and finished in the 27th earning a purse of over 100 thousand dollars.

The #33 team is a team driven by several drivers in a joint effort by Richard Childress Racing and Circle Sport. They are running all of the races to keep the car in the top 35 in owner’s points for a guaranteed starting spot each week. RCR is suing the car to get seat time for its young drivers like Scott and Ty Dillon.

While the fine is a hefty one the real damage could be the loss of 25 points owner’s point which could drop the no. 33 team out of a guaranteed starting spot. With 46 teams trying to qualify for 43 places this weekend at Martinsville that could be the difference between making the race and going home.

The no. 33 team was not the only team to receive penalties.

“NASCAR issued behavioral penalties to five XFINITY crew members for failure to comply with a directive from track security during pre-race activities March 21 at Auto Club Speedway. The crew members, who were working for driver Blake Koch’s No. 8 XFINITY Series team, were Mark Armstrong, Tyler Bullard, Nathaniel House, Jeremy Howard and Ryan Mulder.” FoxSports reported.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, the richest team in baseball these days, has made another big splash. They have agreed to terms with 30 year old Cuban prospect Hector Olivera. There are a lot of questions about his defense and even more so on his health but he appears to be an impact bat that will play one of the middle infield positions for the Dodgers. That becomes more relevant next year when Juan Uribe and Howie Kendrick become free agents.

The deal is for six years and is for 62.5 million dollars. That may seem like a lot, but the Dodgers make a ridiculous amount of money from their local TV deal and are investing that money in players. There are significant concerns about the state of his throwing elbow and that led the Dodgers to add a clause to the deal.

“If Hector Olivera needs Tommy John surgery, there will be an extra year and $1 million added to Olivera’s contract, according to an industry source. It is currently unclear whether or not he’ll need Tommy John surgery, but one source says ‘he does have something’ wrong within his elbow,” Ronald Murray wrote for MLB Trade Rumors.

Jesse Sanchez tweeted earlier today that doctors found a slight tear in Olivera’s UCL but that he should be able to play through that injury.

Olivera mostly played second base in Cuba, but at six foot 2 and 220 lbs he would be a very big middle infielder by MLB standards. He probably fits best at third for L.A. In 10 seasons in Cuba he was a career .323 hitter so once he gets use to big league pitching he may be a impact batter. Aaron Gleeman of Hardball talk described Olivera as a above average right hander with good on base skills with significant power.

Nexus 7 Release Date, Specs Rumors: New Google Smartphone to Be Developed by LG Again

Before the year ended, Google announced its next-generation Nexus 6 by Motorola.

Christian Post Report – Back then, the move to work with Motorola was hardly a surprise to anyone as the company briefly became a part of Google. The success of the Moto X and Moto G the year before could have also pushed Google to choose Motorola over other manufacturers.

However, according to a report by Android Origin, Google may be returning to LG Electronics for the upcoming Nexus 7 smartphone. Insiders claimed that several Google engineers paid a visit to LG’s headquarters last week.

According to Korean media, the Google employees checked the Korean manufacturer’s LG Display and LG Innotek facilities.

Due to this development, the media believes that this could confirm that Google will return to LG for its upcoming smartphone after allowing Motorola to design its Nexus handset last year.

Meanwhile, the report also speculated that Chinese manufacturer may also be involved in the picture. As a result, there could be two possible scenarios – either LG or Huawei will be given the task to develop the smartphone, while the other would work on the next-generation Nexus slate.

Last year, Motorola announced the biggest Nexus smartphone ever, with its 5.96-inch display and QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution.

The device was also super fast with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 chipset, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in memory.

The only feature lacking in the device is a better camera, and the 13MP/2MP combo may not have impressed most Android fans.

But with the latest rumor, LG would definitely do its best to make Google stay in their partnership of developing upcoming Nexus devices.

‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ News: Kenya Moore Finds Love on ‘The Millionaire Matchmaker’

There are many reality shows which aim to bring two people together in hopes that they would find love, and some of them actually deliver what they promise. Just ask Kenya Moore, as the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star has found her match when she appeared on “The Millionaire Matchmaker.”

Christian Post Report – Moore appeared on Sunday’s episode of the show, and the former Miss USA revealed that she is still dating her match, James Freeman.

When the 44-year old met with Patti Stanger on “The Millionaire Matchmaker,” she brought along her fellow housewife Cynthia Bailey for support. During a heart-to-heart with Stanger, Moore revealed that although she has been proposed to seven times in the past, she has a problem with commitment. The RHOA star also said that a lot of men in the past found her to be intimidating and “hard to handle.”

In a pageant-style competition, Moore picked out her dream man. Though initially she was interested in a pilot named Todd, eventually, she picked Freeman, a commercial real estate agent.

On the show, Moore and Freeman were seen taking a salsa lesson, and she happily told the camera that the date was turning out to be perfect so far.

They also had dinner at Sur Restaurant in LA, which is owned by “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Vanderpump.

Of her date, Moore said, “This man is 6’3″, gorgeous, kind, romantic. What else can a woman be looking for? Cause if he’s not it, I give up.”

It turns out that Moore and Freeman continued dating after they met on the show. On Sunday, the reality star posted a picture of her and her new boyfriend having a birthday dinner together and captioned it, “Sometimes you can spend your whole life looking for a Prince Charming when a King arrives.”

“Thank you @pattistanger and @cynthiabailey10 and my fans for your love and support and desire for my happiness,” she continued.

‘Teen Mom OG’: Farrah Abraham Slams Catelynn Lowell on Twitter, Tyler Baltierra Fights Back

After Catelynn Lowell and her fiancé Tyler Baltierra appeared to have ended their feud with Farrah Abraham on “Couple’s Therapy,” it appears that the couple is at odds again with Abraham after she criticized the premiere episode of “Teen Mom OG” on social media.

Christian Post Report – On the MTV show’s premiere, fans got to catch up with Lowell, Baltierra, Amber Portwood and Maci Bookout. Noticeably absent from the episode was Abraham.

According to Radar Online, Abraham began retweeting fans’ messages about how dull the show was without her.

One tweet she shared, which was posted by a viewer read, “[Teen Mom OG] was such a snooze fest. Now I know why they asked @F1abraham to come back! She’ll be back next week, right?! Hopefully.”

Abraham then took a shot at Lowell with another re-tweet that said, “Technically @CatelynnLowell shouldn’t have been on the show cuz she gave up her kid. Her dysfunctional mom & his dad was the show.”

Both Lowell and Baltierra responded to Abraham’s post. Instead of posting a scathing remark, Lowell opted to take a calm approach and assured fans that she and Abraham had no ongoing feud.

“Just so [people] know I have no beef with @F1abraham what was the past is the past #beadults #TeenMomOG all drama put aside!” Lowell wrote.

However, Baltierra appeared to be offended by Abraham’s retweets as he wrote, “Hiding your opinion through retweets does nothing but make me laugh even harder at the delusional state of your mind #NoRetweetsNeeded.”

It was earlier reported that the Lowell, Portwood, and Bookout were not happy with Abraham’s return to the MTV show, saying that they were not pleased with the controversial star’s choices as she has gone on to write erotic novels and even released a sex tape.

Abraham told Radar Online that her “Teen Mom OG” co-stars were being negative.

“I’m tired of going around in circles with them,” she told the website. “All they want is to talk about me. Somebody always has to say something negative all the time. I don’t care and I don’t value their opinion.”

“Teen Mom OG” airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. on MTV.

‘The Expendables 4’ Cast News: Jackie Chan, Manny Pacquiao, Hulk Hogan Rumored to Be in Upcoming Film

“The Expendables 3” proved to be a bit of a let-down for Lionsgate. A poor showing at the opening weekend box office, coupled with the film being leaked online ahead of its release date and mixed reactions from fans seemed to have doomed the franchise, but Sylvester Stallone has high hopes for the series as he previously announced that there will be an “Expendables 4” and even a follow up to that.

Christian Post Report – Now, Stallone is reportedly aiming to add more new faces to the star-studded cast as rumors of Jackie Chan, Manny Pacquiao, and Hulk Hogan joining the franchise started circulating during the last part of 2014.

There are reports that Hogan has already signed on to appear in an undisclosed role. Meanwhile, Chan confirmed to Den of Geek last year that Stallone did approach him to be in “Expendables 4.”

“Sly [Stallone] wants me for Expendables 4,” said Chan. “I said, ‘okay’, because they already asked me to be in two and three, but I refused. Well, I didn’t refuse, but I said, ‘Sly, can’t we just do you and me? Not just a bunch of people and me only coming out for five minutes.'”

As for Pacquiao, KPopStarz wrote that Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger are big fans of the Filipino boxer, who is currently preparing for his historic fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 2.

The actors were seen at Pacquiao’s fight with Chris Algieri in Macau last year, and the website reports that Stallone and Schwarzenegger visited Pacquiao in his locker room to wish him luck and discuss the possibility of doing a film together. The website’s sources said that the eight division boxing champion agreed to appear in the film.

Reports for “The Expendables 4” casting have yet to be confirmed.
