Emilia Clarke Latest News, Rumors 2015: ‘Game of Thrones’ Actress Turned Down ’50 Shades of Grey’ Role

“Game of Thrones'” Iron Throne aspirant Daenerys Targaryen would have been played by a different actress had Emilia Clarke chosen to accept the role of Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Christian Post Report – English actress Emilia Clarke, known as the Mother of Dragons in HBO’s epic fantasy miniseries “Game of Thrones,” admitted she was offered the part of Anastasia Steele for “Fifty Shades of Grey,” but turned it down due to the nudity required.

Emilia Clarke set to appear as Sarah Connor in the upcoming 2015 film, “Terminator: Genisys”

At that time, Clarke was concerned she would be labeled as an actress specializing in nudity if she signed up to submit to Christian Grey’s dominant personality. And while she has appeared in the buff several times during her last four seasons as Daenerys Targaryen, she says she has no regrets turning down the role that won critical acclaim for Dakota Johnson and over $500 million in the box office for the film.

28-year-old Clarke has since won a 2011 Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama, as well as received a 2013 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Khaleesi, Breaker of Chains.

Her role as Daenerys Targaryen has propelled Clarke into the A-list rank and made her a household name, something the actress is still trying to come to terms with.

“Never in a million years did I think Game of Thrones was going to take off like it did,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s taken me five years to catch up with it. I’m still not sure I’m there.”

According to the show’s producer D.B. Weiss, hundreds of actors auditioned for the role of the rightful heir to the Targaryen throne, but only one was able to deliver a “Joan of Arc” level of messianic intensity.

Fans of Emilia Clarke will be seeing that charismatic force again when Daenerys Targaryen returns for season five of “GoT” on April 12. Clarke will also be appearing as Sarah Connor alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the retcon sequel, “Terminator Genisys” due out in theaters on July 1.

PlayStation 4 Update 2.50 Release Date: Latest March 2015 Update Goes Live

Sony finally released PlayStation 4’s Update 2.50 Thursday more than a year since the console’s launch in November 2013.

Christian Post Report – PlayStation 4’s long-awaited update is finally live after Sony released its new firmware labeled Update 2.50, featuring instant suspend and resume capabilities for games.

PlayStation 4 Youtube/file

The PlayStation 4 could have a few glitches, but there are ways to solve them at home

Update 2.50, codenamed “Yukimura,” is touted to be Sony’s biggest and most significant update in a long while. “Yukimura” comes with several features, one of which is the suspend and resume gameplay capability using the PS button to allow players to hop in and out of their games.

This previously assured improvement Sony promised console users even before its 2013 launch gives players the power to pause their games, switch to another app, then go back and restart their paused game without having to save their progress.

This feature is expected to work for most games playable on the PS4 console. However, Sony’s VP for platforms marketing, John Koller, recently released information the suspend/resume feature may not be fully compatible with every game.

Another feature allows players to back-up and restore their hard drive to an external drive, and vice-versa. To make PS4 games more social, Sony has enabled a Find PS4 Friends capability by connecting the console to users’ Facebook contacts if they opt to link their accounts. This makes it easier for players to join in on their friends’ current games, as well as organize game parties on PS4.

Sony has given users the capability to automatically install their own system updates to their consoles, as well as a screen shot option whenever a game milestone is hit. This way, players can share an accomplishment screengrab on their feed.

Update “Yukimura” is available at PlayStation App and PlayStation Vita, and comes just a week after China lifted its 14-year ban on foreign game consoles, allowing Sony to begin selling their consoles in the Chinese market.

‘King’s Quest’ 2015 Release Date on PS3, PS4, Xbox One, 360: A Re-Imagining of an Old Classic

The world’s first animated adventure game ever made for PC is making a comeback. In this age of reboots, a re-imagining of “King’s Quest” is being developed by The Odd Gentlemen and will be published by Sierra Entertainment. It is scheduled to be released between the third and fourth quarters of 2015.

King's Quest Trailer Screenshot YouTube/IGN

Christian Post Report – A screenshot of the reveal trailer of King’s Quest.

“King’s Quest” 2015 is actually not a sequel to the “King’s Quest” franchise. The franchise, according to the IGN report, has produced seven sequels, the last being “King’s Quest: Mask of Eternity” published in 1998. The upcoming game is still very much an adventure game, with King Graham of Daventry as the main protagonist. In the game, he is an old man telling his adventure stories to his granddaughter Gwendolyn.

His adventures are presented as flash back episodes where the player needs to solve puzzles in order to proceed. The old game series used point-and-click gestures, but the new game features third-person action/adventure controls.

“At its heart, though, it’s still very much a pure adventure game that relies on wits (and perhaps some trial and error) to solve fiendish puzzles. Objects in the game world are context sensitive, letting you know with an on-screen prompt whether they can be examined (from a first-person perspective, no less), picked up, or otherwise manipulated,” IGN reported.

Another feature of the game is the many ways that one can solve a puzzle or destroy an enemy. Everything a player does in the game will have consequences, which the player must live with throughout the game’s duration.

IGN’s initial preview of the game noted the game’s “gorgeous” graphics. The review says: “It evokes the whimsy and cartoonish aesthetics of the original games with a modern cinematic flair. Animated sequences wove so seamlessly with the gameplay that the effect was like watching a beautifully lush CG cartoon rather than a game.”

A demo of the game on PlayStation 4 was featured during the GDC 2015. The game will be available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Independence Day 2 Cast News: Vivica Fox Confirmed to Return

American actress Vivica Fox has signed up to reprise her role in the sequels to 1996’s “Independence Day.”

Christian Post Report – 20th Century Fox has confirmed Vivica Fox will be making a return run as exotic dancer, Jasmine Dubrow for the June 24, 2016 “Independence Day” sequels.

Director Roland Emmerich himself, who directed the first highly popular film, posted news of Fox’s casting on Twitter. She is joining the other original members of the cast returning to the film, including Jeff Goldblum’s MIT science geek character, David Levinson, and Bill Pullman’s President Thomas Whitmore.

Fox will be reprising her role as Will Smith’s character, Captain Steven Miller’s girlfriend, who becomes his wife in the first movie. Smith himself has not signed on to do the sequels after Fox refused to pay his $50 million asking fee.

The two-part sequels, to be titled “ID Forever Part 1” and “ID Forever Part II” is set 20 years after the events of the original film, and details a plotline where alien reinforcements of the ones killed off two decades before return to earth following a distress call.

A new cast of characters has also been announced for the sequels, including Liam Hemsworth, who will be playing the son-in-law of Bill Pullman’s former President Whitmore character, Jessie Usher, as the son of Vivica Fox and Will Smith’s characters, and Charlotte Gainsbourg in an as yet unannounced role.

With the original film grossing over $817 million in the box office, the film’s sequels will be facing a tough uphill battle attempting to duplicate that financial feat, particularly without Smith’s rebellious insouciance that was partly responsible for making the first film a blockbuster.

Screenplay for the fantasy sci-fi action sequel will be written by Emmerich and Dean Devlin.
