Perrie Edwards Blasted by One Direction Fans After Zayn Malik Quits, Dubbed Modern Day Yoko Ono

Perrie Edwards is dubbed the “modern day Yoko Ono” by disgruntled fans of One Direction after her fiance, Zayn Malik, left the boy band.

Christian Post Report – Zayn Malik has officially left One Direction, and fans of the famous boy band have taken to social media to express their well wishes, grief, and anger. A lot of ill will appears to be directed at Malik’s fiancée, Perrie Edwards. Currently, there is much speculation that Edwards could be the reason why Malik left Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne in the middle of their world tour, and ultimately the band.

Earlier this month, the boys were in Thailand when Malik was photographed embracing a mystery woman. This resulted in a lot of backlash, which ultimately sent the 22-year-old packing up his bags to fly back to the U.K. to talk to his fiancée. On Wednesday, Malik shocked fans the world over when he announced that he was leaving One Direction.

Fans immediately got on social media to express their feelings, with many crying over the “end of an era.” Many were quick to point out Edwards as the cause of Malik’s split from the band as one fan tweeted, “Perrie’s the modern day Yoko Ono…I can’t believe this.”

Another tweeted, “Perrie Edwards is the Yoko Ono of One Direction.”

Yoko Ono was said to be the cause of The Beatles breakup in the past.

Others suggested that Edwards should quit her band, Little Mix, to support Malik’s desire to live a normal life.

Former pop singer Sinitta, who is a regular fixture on “The X Factor”—the show where Malik was discovered by Simon Cowell along with Styles, Tomlinson, Horan, and Payne—offered some insight about why Malik was destined to leave the popular boyband.

“Zayn, he was always the most reluctant,” said Sinitta in an interview with “Good Morning Britain.”

“Even in the early days when we wanted them to dance and there was choreography … He was always the shy one at the back. He has an incredible voice, beautiful boy, really sweet but just very, very shy and introverted so it was hard to get him to even be in the band in the first place,” she explained.

Sinitta also said that Malik’s relationships are very important to him.

“Zayn was always the romantic, spiritual one, always took his relationships very seriously, was always very gentle,” she said.

“I think the relationship is important to him, he and Perrie, that is a very prominent relationship for him and for that to be threatened in any way—especially when you’re travelling around the world and all the stress and drama of that—you need an anchor, some stability somewhere so I think that would have rocked him a lot,” she added.

NCAA 2015 Football News: What Are College Head Football Coaches Really Worth?

superbowl (Photo: Reuters/Joe Skipper)

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh smiles as he answers a question during Media Day for the NFL’s Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, Louisiana January 29, 2013. The 49ers will meet the Baltimore Ravens in the game on February 3

Christian Post Report – How much money is a football coach worth? Are college coaches more valuable than NFL coaches because the recruitment of players falls more on a college coaches shoulders. Can a coach make that much of a difference? Jim Harbaugh recently said that he doesn’t think he is worth his $5 million a year, and many have questioned if Nick Saban is worth north of $7 million a year to Alabama.

“I like making a buck just like the next guy. I’m not doing five times as much work as somebody else or doing more work than someone who’s not the head football coach at the University of Michigan,” Bryan Fischer Harbaugh wrote for College Football 24/7. “So to answer your question, honestly, I would have to say no.”

Harbaugh is known to be a guy who speaks his mind but these seem like very odd comments made by a guy who just signed a seven year contract to coach football at his alma matter on a deal worth a reported $40 million. The powers that be at the University of Michigan certainly think Harbaugh is worth every penny of this deal, but that might change if he losses to Ohio State later this year.

“Michigan fans will think Harbaugh will be worth every penny, however, if he’s able to turn around the football program and have the Wolverines competing for national titles again just as the maize and blue used to do nearly a decade ago,” Fisher added.

Ben Axelrod of Bleacher Report added his thoughts: “In some cases, the coaches aren’t worth it, but in many of them, they are. In the case of Michigan, which has proved profitable regardless of results but has yet to reach its ceiling, it’s hard to envision a world where Harbaugh doesn’t prove worth his paycheck.”

Brock Lesnar Staying With WWE, Officially Leaving MMA

Brock Lesnar with Paul Heyman

Christian Post Report – Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar announced on Tuesday, March 24 that he was signing a multiyear contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. With his decision, Lesnar effectively ended any possibility that he would fight in the Octagon again.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Lesnar said that the decision ultimately came down to a better working schedule with the WWE as well as a mental block that kept him from going back to MMA.

Lesnar said that he spent the past two months training with different partners and coaches to get his body ready for a potential return to the UFC, but he said that he never could get his mind back in the right place where he really saw himself fighting again. After making up his mind, the former champion called Lorenzo Fertitta, co-owner of the UFC, to let him know that he was returning to WWE.

Lesnar revealed that Fertitta made one last offer by doubling what promotion has initially offered him, but Lesnar said that he opted to stay with WWE instead.

“Lorenzo said to me, ‘Can we sharpen our pencil? Can we double it?'” said Lesnar. “I said, ‘It’s not about that. I’m calling to tell you where my heart is, and it’s not about the money,'”

“And then in the back of my mind, I’m thinking ‘Well yeah, it is about the money, but I don’t have to beat myself up for it.’ To prepare for another MMA fight, we’re talking 16, 18 weeks of pure hell, and then the cage door shuts and it’s on,” he explained.

Lesnar said that after having an internal disease called diverticulitis which took him out of MMA for several years, he was not the same when he was finally able to return to the sport.

“When you’re sick for two or three years and you don’t know what’s going on, all of a sudden I went from the baddest man on the planet to vulnerable,” Lesnar said. “I tried to picture myself coming down to the cage, and it was like a bad dream. It just wasn’t right, it didn’t feel right.”

“I’ve been a barbarian my whole life. I’m just a smarter barbarian now. Evolution, you know?” he added.

‘Captain Marvel’ Casting News: Are We Seeing Captain Marvel Soon?

Captain Marvel Instagram Umberto Gonzales Instagram/Umberto Gonzales

Umberto Gonzales’ Instagram post about Captain Marvel.

Christian Post Report – If rumors are to be believed, fans may be seeing Carol Danvers or Captain Marvel sooner that they think. According to numerous reports in Screen Rant, Games Radar and Slashfilm, Marvel may allow fans to get a preview of Ms. Danvers in the upcoming “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” when it is released in theaters on May 1.

According to Screen Rant, while Marvel announced late last year, that they will be making a solo movie featuring Captain Marvel for release in 2018, rumors have also been circulating that the script of “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” also includes cameos of new superheroes who will be introduced and appear as cameos in the movie. Paul Bettany who is rumored to be playing the role of Vision is one of these superheroes. And according to the report, Captain Marvel may be one of them as well.

There is also another rumor about how the film will end that reinforces the idea that new heroes need to come in. This has to do with the rumored end of the sequel wherein The Avengers are no longer a team and Captain America and the Black Widow need to recruit new members to the fold, which may include Captain Marvel.

Latino Review claims that Ms. Danvers has indeed been cast and Marvel is keeping a tight lid on who the actress is. As for the solo film, no writer has been signed on yet but reports are saying that comic book writer Kelly Sue Deconnick was trying to get the part. Another author close to the character of Captain Marvel, Jim Starlin, is said to be on board the “Captain Marvel” movie in an advisory capacity.

The report in Games Radar bravely cites a few possible names of actresses in contention for the role. It mentions Jessica Chastain, who earlier hinted “at a secret Marvel meeting.” It also mentions Jennifer Lawrence, who played Mystique in the “X-Men.”

Detroit Tigers MLB 2015 News, Rumors: What is the True Value of the Team?

Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera hits an RBI single in front of New York Yankees catcher Russell Martin during the eighth inning of Game 2 of their MLB ALCS playoff baseball series in New York, October 14, 2012. (Photo: Reuters/Ray Stubblebine)

Detroit Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera hits an RBI single in front of New York Yankees catcher Russell Martin during the eighth inning of Game 2 of their MLB ALCS playoff baseball series in New York, October 14, 2012.

How can it be that a company with a $20 million operating loss last year and an operating loss in five of the last seven years be worth 65 percent more than it was a year ago? That is the fuzzy math Forbes is trying to sell with its annual list of baseball team evaluations that was published today. Forbes has tracked the value of sports franchises sine 1998 but just like everyone else they do not have access to the books, so Forbes is estimating team values.

In the case of the Detroit Tigers, it seems like they are off. The value of the Tigers, according to Forbes’ estimates, is $1.125 billion. Yet, all the above rings true of this team that has won four straight division crowns.

Looking at the fuzzy math we see that the Tigers had $84 million in gate receipts on revenue of some $254 million. That means their share of the national TV deal, their local TV contract, Stadium Naming right deal, souvenir sales and concessions totaled $170 million. We know that the team had a payroll of $187 million but have no idea what the other operating expenses are.

However, given the numbers we can estimate that the team spent $87 million on them. What does a Major League Baseball team spend $87 million on that isn’t payroll?

Mike Illitch bought the team in 1992 for $82 million. The team is certainly worth more than that given its extremely high local TV ratings and solid numbers at the gate, along with the revenue a new ballpark generates. Forbes says $1.125 billion, but the team is really only worth what someone will pay for it. That means the true value lays somewhere between $82 million and whatever the team is sold for the next time it is on the market.

Christians Must Love Muslims Even When Society Is Expecting Us to Hate Them, Says Fmr. Muslim-Turned-Christian Pastor Afshin Ziafat

Afshin Ziafat, pastor of Providence Church in Frisco, Texas, speaks at the ERLC Leadership Summit on racial reconciliation on March 27, 2015. (Photo: http://erlc.com/ video screencap)

Afshin Ziafat, pastor of Providence Church in Frisco, Texas, speaks at the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission’s Leadership Summit on racial reconciliation in Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday, March 27, 2015.

Afshin Ziafat, a former Muslim who’s now a Christian pastor, said at the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission’s Leadership Summit on racial reconciliation that Christians must reach out to others with love, even when society is expected to hate them.

“Racial reconciliation is not just a good idea because racial equality is a politically correct idea, but it’s because the message of the Gospel is at stake. The name of Jesus is at stake. And so the Gospel tells us that it’s by grace alone that we can be restored to God,” Ziafat, the pastor of Providence Church in Frisco, Texas, said on Friday.

The pastor shared his personal story of how he came to faith in Christ during the summit, which took place on March 26-27 in Nashville, Tennessee. He said that his story reflects the call for Christians to get out of their comfort zones and reach out to others.

Ziafat, who was born in Houston, revealed that when he was 2 years old, his family moved to Iran. After the Iranian Revolution hit the country four years later, they moved back to America to avoid the hostilities. They came face to face with racial discrimination in Houston, however, due to tensions between Iran and the U.S. at the time.

“It was not easy in 1979 to be from Iran living in America. A group of Americans were held hostage for over a year,” he said, referring to the Iranian hostage crisis when 52 American diplomats and citizens were held hostage in Iran in the midst of the Iranian Revolution.

“We had rocks thrown at our window in Houston because people knew our family was from Iran. In high school, kids threatened to beat up my brother and I; my parents’ car’s tiers were slashed.”

Ziafat revealed, however, that it was a “Christian lady,” an English tutor, who in the second grade treated him with love and kindness and gave him his first Bible. The tutor had him promise that one day he would read the book when he was older. Ten years later when he was in his senior year of high school, Ziafat converted to Christianity.

“Had any other American given me that New Testament, I would have thrown it away. Because I didn’t trust them. You want to win a Muslim for Christ? I believe you have to earn the right to be heard. And she did it by the way she was loving me,” the pastor said.

“I am so thankful for this one Christian, when for everyone else it was totally right and natural to hate people from Iran, she went against what’s natural and did the Gospel move.”

Initially, Ziafat hid his faith from his father, who was the president of the Islamic Medical Society in Houston, and said that he used to sneak out to go to church on Sundays.

Eventually his father found out, and after Ziafat admitted that he was a Christian, his Muslim family disowned him. It was then that the pastor felt Christ’s call to follow Him regardless of the cost.

He went on to receive an undergraduate degree in history from the University of Texas at Austin, where he said that God opened up many doors for him.

His father eventually offered to conditionally take him back and even pay for his entire study at medical school, but Ziafat found himself called to enter into ministry.

The pastor admitted it was one of the hardest things he had to do in his life to tell his father that he can’t take up his offer for medical school, because he feels that God is calling him into ministry.

His father told him: “Son, not only will I never be proud of you, I will be ashamed of you for as long as I live.”

Ziafat remained committed to his decision, however, and went on to receive his master of divinity with biblical languages from Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas.

He says God has continued to open up doors for him, and besides his ministry at Providence Church, he also travels nationally and internationally to speaks at churches, retreats, camps, conferences and missions.

What is more, he has been able to preach to and help guide Iranian teachers in a neighboring country, who are then able to go back into Iran and set up underground churches for Christians.

“It all goes back to one lady who understood the Gospel, who said: ‘I’m gonna love this Iranian kid when everyone hates people from Iran,'” Ziafat reflected.

“God is calling us to step out, especially at a time when it is expected of us to distrust and maybe even hate Muslims.”

He reminded the audience at the ERLC summit that everyone was once distant from God, but Jesus has welcomed all who turn to Him.

“When we were enemies of God, Jesus loved us,” he continued. “We are to go even to our political enemies, even to the people who we, in our human flesh, would lump with terrorism, and [those who live] across the streets from us and love them, when they are expecting us to treat them in a different way.”

ERLC President Russell Moore said in a statement back in February that Christians can learn from Ziafat’s story, especially in light of major world conflicts, such as the rise of terror group ISIS.

“In a time when the world is on fire with the threat of Islamic jihadist extremism and religious persecution, we must be the people who know how to engage our neighbors with the Gospel that reconciles,” Moore said.

“Afshin Ziafat is the best person I know to help guide us, having been on both sides of the church’s walls, as a Muslim child and as a Christian evangelist.”

PlayStation 4 Update 2.50 Goes Live

PlayStation 4 Youtube/file

The PlayStation 4 could have a few glitches, but there are ways to solve them at home

Christian Post Report – Sony finally released PlayStation 4’s Update 2.50 Thursday more than a year since the console’s launch in November 2013.

PlayStation 4’s long-awaited update is finally live after Sony released its new firmware labeled Update 2.50, featuring instant suspend and resume capabilities for games.

Update 2.50, codenamed “Yukimura,” is touted to be Sony’s biggest and most significant update in a long while. “Yukimura” comes with several features, one of which is the suspend and resume gameplay capability using the PS button to allow players to hop in and out of their games.

This previously assured improvement Sony promised console users even before its 2013 launch gives players the power to pause their games, switch to another app, then go back and restart their paused game without having to save their progress.

This feature is expected to work for most games playable on the PS4 console. However, Sony’s VP for platforms marketing, John Koller, recently released information the suspend/resume feature may not be fully compatible with every game.

Another feature allows players to back-up and restore their hard drive to an external drive, and vice-versa. To make PS4 games more social, Sony has enabled a Find PS4 Friends capability by connecting the console to users’ Facebook contacts if they opt to link their accounts. This makes it easier for players to join in on their friends’ current games, as well as organize game parties on PS4.

Sony has given users the capability to automatically install their own system updates to their consoles, as well as a screen shot option whenever a game milestone is hit. This way, players can share an accomplishment screengrab on their feed.

Update “Yukimura” is available at PlayStation App and PlayStation Vita, and comes just a week after China lifted its 14-year ban on foreign game consoles, allowing Sony to begin selling their consoles in the Chinese market.

Jesse Eisenberg Goes Bald for Lex Luthor Role in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’

The first look at Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor character for “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” to premiere in theaters March 25, 2016. @BatmanNewsCom Twitter. March 27, 2015.

Christian Post Report – Jesse Eisenberg debuted the first look at his bald character for his role as Lex Luthor in the upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

“The Social Network” star gave audiences their first glimpse of his totally bald Lex Luthor character on the cover of Entertainment Weekly as a teaser for his role in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which premieres in theaters on March 25, 2016.

Eisenberg appears both eerie and menacing in the black and white photo, an abrupt departure from the innocent, bumbling, and nice-guy roles he has portrayed in films thus far.

“He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure,” director Zack Snyder told the magazine. “Other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.”

A number of DC comics superhero fans were initially skeptical over Eisenberg’s casting as the iconic Superman villain, despite his being the same age as the lead star, Henry Cavill, who is reprising his man of steel role in this sequel film. With the emergence of his sinister Lex Luthor image, it is likely fans of the franchise will be sufficiently mollified.

Eisenberg, 31, will be stepping into the role previously made infamous by Gene Hackman in the 1978 and 1980 Superman Movies, Kevin Spacey in 2006’s “Superman Returns,” and Michael Rosenbaum in television’s “Smallville” from 2001 to 2011.

Whether Eisenberg, who sports an impressive resume that includes “Now You See Me,” “The Double,” and an Academy Award nomination for his 2010 role as Facebook co-founder, Mark Zuckerberg in “The Social Network,” can step up to the plate to essay a creditably villainous Lex Luthor remains to be seen when the film hits theaters next March.

‘King’s Quest’ 2015 – A Re-Imagining of an Old Classic

King's Quest Trailer Screenshot YouTube/IGN

A screenshot of the reveal trailer of King’s Quest.

Christian Post Report – The world’s first animated adventure game ever made for PC is making a comeback. In this age of reboots, a re-imagining of “King’s Quest” is being developed by The Odd Gentlemen and will be published by Sierra Entertainment. It is scheduled to be released between the third and fourth quarters of 2015.

“King’s Quest” 2015 is actually not a sequel to the “King’s Quest” franchise. The franchise, according to the IGN report, has produced seven sequels, the last being “King’s Quest: Mask of Eternity” published in 1998. The upcoming game is still very much an adventure game, with King Graham of Daventry as the main protagonist. In the game, he is an old man telling his adventure stories to his granddaughter Gwendolyn.

His adventures are presented as flash back episodes where the player needs to solve puzzles in order to proceed. The old game series used point-and-click gestures, but the new game features third-person action/adventure controls.

“At its heart, though, it’s still very much a pure adventure game that relies on wits (and perhaps some trial and error) to solve fiendish puzzles. Objects in the game world are context sensitive, letting you know with an on-screen prompt whether they can be examined (from a first-person perspective, no less), picked up, or otherwise manipulated,” IGN reported.

Another feature of the game is the many ways that one can solve a puzzle or destroy an enemy. Everything a player does in the game will have consequences, which the player must live with throughout the game’s duration.

IGN’s initial preview of the game noted the game’s “gorgeous” graphics. The review says: “It evokes the whimsy and cartoonish aesthetics of the original games with a modern cinematic flair. Animated sequences wove so seamlessly with the gameplay that the effect was like watching a beautifully lush CG cartoon rather than a game.”

A demo of the game on PlayStation 4 was featured during the GDC 2015. The game will be available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Upcoming HTC Phones 2015: Butterfly 3 Arriving to Japanese Carrier KDDI Soon?

HTC Butterfly 2 Youtube Screenshot/ file

HTC Butterfly 2

Christian Post Report – The HTC One M9 is truly one heck of a device, and it is the manufacturer’s most powerful smartphone to date.

However, the Taiwanese phone maker is working on other projects as well, such as the rumored One M9 Plus that is slated for a release a few weeks from now.

In a new report by Phone Arena, a new successor of the Butterfly lineup is allegedly under development.

Rumored as the HTC Butterfly 3, the Android-powered smartphone is expected to hit KDDI in Japan in the next quarter, which begins next month.

Considering the recent history of the Butterfly lineup, it is rumored to get better specs than the One M9 itself.

Some alleged specs include a 5.2-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 810 chipset or a MediaTek variant, and a 32GB built-in memory.

The device is expected to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, has a microSD card slot, and ample battery to power the entire smartphone.

While there are still no leaks about the camera department, the Butterfy lineup has a rich history of outperforming its flagship counterparts.

Last year, the Butterfly 2 launched with a 13MP camera at the back, beating the One M8 that only had 4MP UltraPixels of resolution.

With that it would not be surprising if the Butterfly 3 would get a 20.7MP shooter at the back, plus a secondary sensor similar to the one that came up the HTC One M8 last year.

In the report, the HTC Butterfly 3 is rumored to support VoLTE, and arrive in several colors such as white, blue and red.
