Actor Matt Bomer arrives at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California Jan. 11, 2015

Christian Post Report – The recently held PaleyFest in Los Angeles this weekend gave the fans and the media the first-hand confirmation on anything about “American Horror Story” and its upcoming installment “Hotel.”

Joined by the cast and crew of AHS at the panel discussion, there are several things that have been confirmed. One of which is the long hinted speculation that lead star Jessica Lange won’t be checking in for “Hotel.”

In front of the large crowd, the Emmy award winner clarified that she will be leaving the popular FX anthology series.

“I’m done,” the actress answered when asked by the moderator. “We’ve had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I’ve had the opportunity to play, and in all madness, I love the writers and Ryan and the insanity of shooting it.”

But with one coming out, there’s two going in. The Hollywood Reporter indicated in their report that executive producer Ryan Murphy’s frequent collaborators Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson will be joining the AHS family which will also see the involvement of another newcomer, Lady Gaga.

As for the two gentlemen, THR said that Bomer will take on the “male lead” role while Jackson “will join the ensemble.”

The “White Collar” lead star is no stranger to AHS. Followers may remember him appearing for a guest role on last season’s “Freak Show.” On the other hand, it will be the first time for Jackson to be in AHS.

“American Horror Story: Hotel” is reported to begin production for its 13 episodes this late summer in time for an October opening.

Arrow and the Flash

Christian Post Report – DC’s small screen adaptations are about to go in full steam as recent news indicates that “Arrow” and “The Flash” executive producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim are about to deliver yet another offshoot series based from the mentioned titles.

Speaking with Variety, showrunner Berlanti revealed some meaty details about the proposed TV show saying that it is designed to be “most similar to our crossover episodes, where you feel that ‘event-iness,’ but all the time.”

He further likened it to Western classics like “The Magnificent Seven” or those heist pictures like “Ocean’s Eleven” “where you get all those colors at the same time, and a true ensemble, and that was the fun of it.”

If the project will be picked up by The CW, it will likely to feature heroes and villains appearing on the sister shows. As what the publication detailed out, it might see “Arrow” actor Brandon Routh, who plays the Atom, and Caity Lotz, as Sara Lance a.k.a. Black Canary.

“The Flash” characters Dr. Martin Stein (played by Victor Garber), Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (played by “Prison Break” star Wentworth Miller) and Mick Rory/Heat Wave (portrayed by Dominic Purcell) would also likely be involved with the upcoming spin-off.

Variety went on to add that other than the mentioned cast, the future show would take “at least three major” characters from the DC Comics. Berlanti clarified that these entities were never been brought to the small screens before.

“I can’t wait for people to find out — we just have to cast it right, as always,” Berlanti added.

Grant Gustin-led “The Flash” airs every Tuesdays at 8 p.m. and Stephen Amell’s “Arrow” shows every Wednesdays at the same timeslot on The CW.

‘Doctor Who’ Season 9 Cast News, Update: Mark Gatiss to Guest Star

Doctor Who Youtube/file

Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who

Christian Post Report – While it has already been known that cast members Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are currently filming for the new season of the hit science-fiction TV series “Doctor Who,” another splendid news greeted the fans of the time-traveling show when it was announced earlier this week that long-time collaborator Mark Gatiss will return to pen an episode for the upcoming chapter.

A report from Den of Geek cited the “Sherlock” actor and co-creator speaking with The Telegraph over the weekend wherein he was able to confirm an “autumn episode” that will be credited under his name.

“I’m in the midst of that right now – I broke off to come here today, in fact, but I’m hoping to finish the script tonight,” he told DenofGeek.

He went on to reveal that the segment will be a “scary” one.

“It has been a tough nut to crack, but I’m delighted with how scary it is. I can’t say any more than that,” he added.

The 48-year-old polymath previously wrote about seven episodes for the TV show. The titles include “Robot of Sherwood,” “The Crimson Horror,” “Cold War,” “Night Terrors,” “Victory of the Daleks,” “The Idiot’s Lantern,” and “The Unquiet Dead.”

It was speculated that the Gatiss’ episode will be that of series 9’s reported two-parter segment. But as what Enstarz said in their report, his “inclusion in the multi-part episode scheme seems unlikely.”

Steven Moffat meanwhile dished out some meaty details about Peter Capaldi’s Doctor.

“We’re not bringing him back exactly the same as we left him, at all. I think that was already evident at Christmas,” Moffat explained to Doctor Who magazine. “He’s left some of the burden of being the superhero of the universe behind.”

“Doctor Who” is expected to return to the BBC and BBC America this fall.

Evangelical Author: Western Christians Don’t Care Enough About ISIS’ ‘Once-in-a-1,000-Year Threat’ to Christianity

  • Johnnie Moore
Johnnie Moore is the author of a new book about Jesus called Dirty God (#DirtyGod). He spent a dozen years at Liberty University where he was its senior vice president and campus pastor as well as a professor of religion. He now works in Hollywood for an Emmy-Award-winning television producer.

Evangelical author and former vice president of Liberty University, Johnnie Moore, asserted in a book to be published in April, that Western Christians don’t care enough about the threat posed by the Islamic State, which is attempting to wipe out Christianity in the Middle East.

Christian Post Report – “I am convinced that one of the reasons why Christians in the West haven’t been more supportive of Christians in the East is not that they don’t care about the situation, they just chose not to care for it,” Moore asserted in a Monday interview with The Christian Post. “It is just not relevant to their lives. Everybody has their own lives, and their own problems, and their own jobs, and kids and all these things.”

Moore traveled to the Kurdish region of Northern Iraq last October to hear first-hand accounts from refugees on how barbarically ISIS treated Christians when it took over much of its territory in Syria and Iraq last summer, and afterwards was inspired to write his new book, Defying ISIS, so that westerners can fully grasp the magnitude of what ISIS’ rise to power means for the future of Christianity in the region.

“We are watching a once-in-a-thousand-year crisis. We are witnessing the elimination of ancient Christian communities from the Middle East, communities that thrived for over 2,000 years,” Moore explained. “And, it is happening under the watchful eye of the West and all the sensible nations of this world. If we don’t do something about it, we are going to be responsible for it.”

In the book, which was released as an e-book last Friday, Moore explains that ISIS takes particular joy in killing Christians and destroying Christian holy sites within the region. He explained that ISIS’ extreme ideology has led to mass killings, rampant rape, and decapitations of Christians, Yazidis and other religious minorities.

He chronicles ISIS’ lethal and systemic mistreatment of Iraqi and Syrian Christians by highlighting the stories of Christians who were beheaded for failing to convert to Islam, the young boy who was cut in half for being Christian, and the countless women that were enslaved by ISIS militants as sex slaves.

Although Iraq used to be home to over 1.5 million Christians, only 10 percent of those Christians remain in the region. As more and more Christians are fleeing from the area, Moore says that the Christian communities that were once home to many biblical figures like the prophet Jonah and Abraham are now on the verge of extinction along with Jesus’ native language of Aramaic.

  • Defying ISIS book cover
    (Harper Collins/2015)
Defying ISIS, written by Johnnie Moore.

Moore reasoned that Christians in the West may also not care enough about the dire situations of Mideast Christians under ISIS’ rule because the media has down played the threat the group poses to Christianity.

“Until the beheading of 21 Coptic Christians in Libya, the press rarely covered the particular threat against Christians which is a threat that has existed at least since 2003 and has been escalating almost by the day since last summer,” Moore stated.

He also put some of the blame on Western church leaders for not emphasising regularly how much of a problem ISIS presents to the future of Christianity.

“Churches in this country don’t need to be treating this as just something that they need to pray about. This is a once-in-a-thousand-year crisis,” Moore asserted. “Every single church in America, every single Sunday in this country, ought to be praying for this and telling their congregations about this. This isn’t ‘Let’s have a persecution Sunday next month because this is happening.’ This is like every single time a leader of the church in this country opens their mouth, they need to be talking about this issue.”

Although Christians in America might wonder how they are directly affected by the decline of Christianity in the Middle East, Moore warned that if action is not taken to stop ISIS in Iraq and Syria, the threat will ultimately reach the American homeland.

“If we don’t deal with it there, we will face it here. It is not a matter of whether or not we should be involved. It is a matter of where we are going to have to be involved,” Moore contends.

Moore adds that there is evidence that ISIS ideology has already been adopted by many in the U.S.

“One of the points I make in the book is that ISIS is already at work in different ways in every developed country in the world, or ISIS sympathizers. They may not be attached to the organization but they sympathize with it,” he noted. “Here in the United States of America for instance, one university studied Arabic language tweets and one out of five Arabic language tweets in the United States that mention ISIS were in support of ISIS. Google openly announced that their censoring apparatus can’t keep up with the amount of jihadist propaganda showing up on the internet everyday.”

Rumours pointing out to the postponed wedding ceremony between Sofia Vergara and fiancé Joe Manganiello were recently straightened out by the “Modern Family” star.

Sofia Vergara Reuters/File

Christian Post Report – Actress Sofia Vergara, from the sitcom “Modern Family,” arrives at the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California, January 13, 2013

Media outlet Extra caught up with the 42-year-old Colombian star who appeared during the Los Angeles Paley Fest panel discussion event for her hit TV show in March 14 and was asked to shed off some light about her wedding plans.

“I don’t know, how can something be postponed when it has never been set? It’s really funny,” Vergara told Us Magazine.

The conversation later on indicates that although the date for their big day hasn’t been set yet, she did however enjoyed making the preparations with loved ones.

“It’s always a lot of fun for girls to plan the wedding,” Sofia shared.

Us Weekly meanwhile pointed out that though the actress/businesswoman previously suggested a fall wedding with Manganiello, it does seems like they will settle for a summer event.

“I always get upset, because my favorite job of all the jobs I do is going to work on the set of Modern Family,” she said at the PaleyFest Panel. “It’s like a family. Now I have four months of hiatus.”

Other than her busy schedule with the ABC TV sitcom, Sofia still has other things to attend to including the forthcoming action-comedy flick which she starred with Reese Witherspoon.

“I’m going to be promoting Hot Pursuit, it comes out May 8 with Reese Witherspoon. So the rest of March and April is going to be promoting a movie. Then hopefully I’ll get to do something else during the hiatus,” she added.

Both Sofia and the “True Blood” actor began dating back in July last year. The latter has reportedly proposed to the “Happy Feet Two” voice-actress while they were on a Christmas vacation in Hawaii.

‘Suicide Squad’ Cast News, Update: Jai Courtney Talks Film and Director

Jai Courtney Reuters/File

Jai Courtney present during the “A Good Day to Die Hard” premiere screening.

Christian Post Report – If the “Divergent” actor Jai Courtney is to be asked, the upcoming superhero blockbuster “Suicide Squad” won’t be like any other comic book movie that fans will ever see.

Directed by “Fury” helmer David Ayer, the forthcoming picture is based on the DC Comics series of the same name featuring a band of incarcerated supervillains who now works for the United States government in exchange for a lowered prison sentences.

The 29-year-old actor strongly believes that Ayer is going to pull off more than what is expected of the adaptation.

“Ayer was really the major point of attraction for me with this,” Jai told MTV News. “I remember saying, quite confidently, that there’s no way in hell I’d do a comic book movie. I’m like, ‘Man, it’s tired, it’s done, like, we’re so saturated in it right now, who cares,’ all this stuff–’I don’t go and see them.’ Two weeks later they’re like, ‘David Ayer wants to Skype,’ and I’m like, ‘Anything you want, baby.'”

“It’s David Ayer, man, he’s not going to phone it in. It won’t be like a comic book movie we’ve seen before,” the “Terminator Genisys” star went on to say.

Courtney is slated to portray Captain Boomerang. To better play the part of the Australian thug, IGN reported that the actor has undergone serious physical trainings.

“I’ve been training for three months in different martial arts,” he told Variety. “As you can imagine for that superhero world, the athletic expectations are rather high.”

Aside from Courtney, “Suicide Squad” will feature the acts of Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Joel Kinnaman, and Cara Delevingne.

The title is slated to open in theaters this August 2016.

A concept render of the Sony Xperia Z4

Christian Post Report – Yet another slew of images pointing out to the alleged next-gen flagship from Sony, the Sony Xperia Z4, were released online and it offers a much clearer, more profound details as to what the future device will look like.

A report from Phone Arena cited tech teaser website Nowhereelse, from which the leaked images were first published, saying that these designs are “not final” and are in fact, only intended for use inside Sony. However, these renditions “should resemble the final product.”

As described, the upcoming Sony Xperia Z3 reiteration will follow on its predecessor’s looks but with some “subtle changes,” including the relocation of the large front-facing speakers.

Its physical dimensions are no more different than the Z3 as well. Compared to the latter’s 146 x 72 x 7.3 mm measurement, the Z4 is seen with a bit larger specs of 146.3 x 71.9 x 7.2 mm dimension.

Given this data, the tech review site speculated that the still unannounced flagship will likely to sport a 5.2-inch display. Information however seems to vary when it comes to its display resolution. Some say the device will use a 1080 x 1920 pixels panel or a much larger 1440 x 2560 one.

Under the hood, the new Sony Xperia Z4 is purported to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC processor with either a 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM and “will definitely run” on an Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Its camera, meanwhile, is touted to bear a 20.7 MP snapper specs that will go along with Sony’s proprietary IMX230 image sensor.

For its release date, the Z4 is expected to be officially introduced to the public “sometime this summer,” the site wrote.

A link-up play between Paul Pogba and Alvaro Morata in the 42nd resulted in another goal for Juventus as they held on to win.

The match was evenly played, with both teams putting out nine shots each, while Dortmund enjoyed 59 percent of the possession.

And they should be able to try and use the positives from the first match if they want to turn things around and progress from home.

Andrea Pirlo and Martin Caceres were in the lineup in the first leg but will be out for Juventus in the second as they are getting treatment for their respective injuries. They have been added to a long list of absences for the Serie A giants.
