Hillsong’s Founder Brian Houston Announces He Is ‘Stepping Aside From Church Leadership’ in Wake of Court Proceedings

Hillsong Church’s global senior pastor Brian Houston made a surprise announcement during Hillsong’s Sunday morning church service on January 30, 2022.

Appearing alongside his wife Bobbie, who is also Hillsong Church’s global senior pastor, Houston shared that he was stepping aside as their pastor for the entire year of 2022 to focus on charges brought against him in August 2021 for allegedly concealing his father’s child sex offenses. Houston’s lawyer entered a not guilty plea in a Sydney, Australia courtroom in October of 2021.

Hillsong Church is a worldwide evangelical megachurch that was started in Australia by Brian and Bobbie in the early 1980’s. Today, the church has campuses in over 20 countries, including locations in nine states in America. Hillsong estimates a weekly attendance of over 150,000 in person attendees throughout its campuses. If they included their online attendance in that number it would be over 444,000 per weekend. Read more …

Pakistani Christian mother concerned about the safety of her abducted daughter

A young Christian student, Mahnoor 14, from Lahore was abducted by her Muslim neighbours on January 4th and despite the complaint, the police have still not been able to find her and return her back to her parents because the kidnapper Muhammad Ali Khan Ghauri had converted the teenager and married her.

Saima Bibi, Mahnoor’s mother, told us that her daughter had been living with her grandfather Ashraf since she was two, but because they live very close, saw each other every day.

She said: “On January 4th my father-in-law phoned me and asked if Mahnoor was with us. He said that she went to our neighbour, Ghauri’s, house in the morning but hadn’t returned yet.

“Mahnoor often used to go to the neighbour’s house to play with their children. My husband Aslam and me both got worried and rushed to my father in law’s house. When we reached there, we asked the neighbour if they had seen Mahnoor, but when she said she hadn’t, was shocking for us, as I know she never went alone anywhere before.

“We decided to call the police. When they arrived, they asked the Muslim family about Mahnoor, but they told them the same story they had told us. The police registered a complaint and left, telling us they will try to find her and will let us know when they do.

“When we didn’t hear anything the next day, we started looking for help as we wanted our daughter back as soon as possible. Someone we know told us that in such cases once the girl is abducted, soon she will be forced to convert to Islam and then she will be married to the Muslim man who abducted her and we may never see our daughter again.

“This information was very disturbing for me and didn’t know what to do. After three days I went again to their house and Ghauri’s sister Sana handed me a few documents consisting of Mahnoor’s conversion to Islam and marriage certificate.

It was hard to believe, I felt very helpless and angry, I cried and I begged Sana Ghauri’s sister to return our daughter to us, but all in vain. Ghauri is already married and a father of two. We had doubted them already because the next day the whole family had escaped for some time.

Saima said they had good relations with each other, but they never knew about their intentions.

Crying, she said: “I don’t know when Ghauri managed to lure my young daughter into a relationship. My daughter is a minor, she is just a child she doesn’t know what has happened to her. Authorities must help us and get my daughter back.”

She further said they were hopeful, justice will be done, and their daughter will be returned to them.

Nasir Saeed, Director CLAAS-UK, said: “Last year we have recorded about 40 cases. There may be some other cases but according to my knowledge, this is the first case of this year and there will be many more as this trend is growing. According to some reports, more than 1,000 Christian and Hindu girls are abducted, converted to Islam and married to much older Muslim men every year.

“Although under the child marriage restraint act 1929 it is a crime to marry a girl under 16, and 18 in Sindh province, it is still happening every day.

“Law enforcement agencies mostly refuse to register the case and instead side with the criminals. Instead of listening to the victims they support the abductors, and there are even examples where police have told the parents they should be happy their daughter has converted to Islam.

“Courts must decide the cases according to the law instead of bringing in shariah law and make religiously influenced decisions.

“They are not just denying justice to religious minorities, but are protecting criminals and promoting paedophiles.

“Unfortunately, the international community, which is very sensitive on these issues in their own countries, is not holding Pakistan accountable for committing crimes against humanity. Pakistan must end the forced conversion and forced marriage of minorities’ girls.”

Renowned Psychologist Jordan Peterson Tells Joe Rogan Why the Bible Is ‘Way More True Than Just True’

Famed psychologist Jordan Peterson spoke about the importance of the Bible as the centerpiece of ideas, noting it was essentially “the first book” and that it served as the basis on which other cultural knowledge was built.

“Now, in many ways, the first book was the Bible … for a while literally there was only one book,” Peterson told popular podcast host Joe Rogan. “Before it was the Bible, it was scrolls, writings on papyrus.”

The famous author and psychologist noted that most other books were, thus, birthed from the Bible, which he described as a robust collection of texts.

“All of those books in some sense emerged out of that underlying book,” Peterson said. “And that book itself … the Bible itself isn’t a book. It’s a library. It’s a collection of books.”

He argued that the Bible is a text “upon which other texts depend.” This essentially means that scripture occupies a special place in displaying, setting, and perpetuating truth.

“It isn’t that the Bible is true. It’s that the Bible is the precondition for the manifestation of truth, which makes it way more true than just true,” Peterson continued. “It’s a whole different kind of true. I think this is not only literally the case, factually. I think it can’t be any other way. It’s the only way we can solve the problem of perception.”

The Dangers of Sharing the Gospel in Nigeria

Nigeria : Oscar Amaechina, the president of the Afri-Mission and Evangelism Network of Nigeria, in a recently interview with The Christian Post (CP) spoke about the challenges of spreading the Gospel in Nigeria.

A former pastor, Amaechina told CP that an estimated 66 million Nigerians have not heard about Jesus. Islamic extremism in the country’s northern and middle-belt regions has made ministering in these areas extremely dangerous.

“I remember there was a particular mission field where we were ministering to people, and some people came to kill us,” he told CP. “We saw them with their machetes, we saw them with their swords, and we believed that that was our last breath. We thought we were going to take our last breath and go.”

But instead of being paralyzed by fear, the missionaries began serving the men who sought to take their lives.

“We gave them rice, gave them spaghetti, gave them cream and soup … and they moved away from us,” he recalled. “They returned, and one of their leaders spoke to us through an interpreter and said, ‘We were here to kill you. Since we are poor, no one has ever given us gifts, but because of these gifts, we want to become Christians.’”

Amaechina and his team were able to lead the men to Christ.  “It was an eye-opener,” he said. “Since that day, we have never resisted showing kindness. There’s power in kindness and love. And that is what we believe in ministry.”

Nigeria is arguably the most dangerous place to be a Christian in the world today. The north is the stronghold of Islam in the country, where hostile groups of Muslim extremists have devastated the minority Christian population. Since 2000, an estimated 70-100 thousand Christians have been killed throughout the Nigeria due to persecution.

“We are constantly harassed, threatened and beaten, our spirits are really willing but our fleshes are getting weaker on a daily basis,” wrote Amaechina in Afri-missions annual report.

“We are praying, asking God to help. We are trusting that God will be able to do it.”

“Renewing your life means coming into a whole new aspect of life,” says Michelle, “but it’s really about rediscovering yourself.”

Renew Life Healing specializes in Life Transformation using the Law of Attraction: the idea that we attract what we put out from an energy perspective. Michelle works with her clients to create positive energy in their world so they can attract what they want in life.

“The energy we give is the energy we receive,” says Michelle, “Let the Law of Attraction work for you.”

Michelle’s clients are typically people who are facing challenges in life, either with health, relationships or money, or they feel stuck, like they’re just not moving forward. Stagnant. She even helps business owners come into true alignment with their business vision, allowing them to bring in their perfectly aligned clients.

According to Michelle, these challenges are from subconscious limiting beliefs that they don’t realize are holding them back in life. Together, Michelle and her clients figure out what those beliefs are, and she uses different techniques to shift, change and remove them, allowing her clients to move forward in alignment allowing life to flow easily.

“Only by healing on all levels can we experience true life changing transformation,” says Michelle.

Michelle helps her clients conquer their challenges from the subconscious level, the physical body level and the soul level, and incorporates a number of energy healing modalities in her work, including Rapid Transformational Therapy, Spiritual Response Therapy, ThetaHealing, Diamond Dowsing, as well as The Emotion Code and the Body Code.

Each modality heals on different levels: ThetaHealing is about changing beliefs and clearing energy we’ve inherited at the DNA level; The Emotion Code and the Body Code are removing imbalances in the body caused by trapped emotions; Spiritual Response Therapy offers deep soul level healing; Diamond Dowsing removes negative energies from the environment and the Earth that could be causing harm in many ways.

“I’m constantly learning and continuing to expand my toolbox to make sure I can give my clients whatever they need,” says Michelle. “I am proud that I was able to figure out how to make deep transformation in my life so I can help other people do the same in an easy way.”
