Christians Hospitalized after Terrifying Christmas Attacks in India
NEW DELHI, December 31, 2018 (Morning Star News) – Christians in India who previously experienced little or no opposition reported that Hindu extremists stoned, slashed and terrorized them this Christmas season.
At least 18 incidents against Christians were reported and verified during the Christmas season, according to the Religious Liberty Commission (RLC) of the Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI). Of those incidents, 10 were reported from Uttar Pradesh state, three from Uttarakhand state, three from Tamil Nadu state and two from Maharashtra state.
“Both the frequency of the attacks and their intensity has increased in the past few years,” said the Rev. Vijayesh Lal, general secretary of the EFI and the national director of the RLC.
The worst attack took place in Kowad village, Kolhapur District in Maharashtra state, where masked men carrying sharp weapons attacked a Christmas gathering on Dec. 23. The bloody assault sent seven Christians to hospital intensive care, with three undergoing surgery.
Around 20 masked men barged into the Sunday worship service of the New Life Fellowship Church with swords, knives, iron rods, glass bottles, stones and other sharp objects and attacked the congregation meeting at the presbyter’s residence. Milton Norenj, coordinator of the New Life Fellowship Jadhinglaj, said the suspected Hindu extremists entered the service…
Open Heaven 1 January 2019 Tuesday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – I Will Do A New Thing
Topic: I Will Do A New Thing (Open Heaven 1 January 2019)
Memorise:“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”– Isaiah 43:19
Read: Isaiah 43:14-19 (KJV)
14 Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
16 Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
17 Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Bible in One Year: Matthew 1-3, Isaiah 1:1-17
Open Heaven 1 January 2019 Tuesday MESSAGE:
Welcome to a new year! The Almighty God says to you and me, “I will do a new thing.” How marvelous it is to begin the new year with this promise from our Father. These are not empty words! They are the declaration of the Creator of heaven and earth, the Sustainer and Redeemer of all things, who cannot lie. However, for you to partake of the informative power in this word sent from God, all you have to do is believe. Remember the words of our Lord Jesus Christ to the ruler of the synagogue in Luke 8:50b, saying:
“Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.”
Beloved, on this first day of the new year, God is telling a user of this devotional, “I will do something new about your spiritual life. Your spiritual status will change from being sinful to being holy. In this new year, you will no longer continue to live a life that saddens My heart, because I have decided to save your soul and cleanse you from all your impurities.” If this applies to you, you must take a bold step of faith like Zacchaeus did in Luke 19:1-10, by repenting of your sins and choosing to right your wrongs through the help and power of the Holy Spirit.
As a new year gift for all His faithful children, our Abba Father makes a promise in today’s Bible reading to do that which is humanly impossible. If you are numbered among His children, I congratulate you, but if you are not, the new thing promised by the Lord begins with the salvation of your soul. Do you know that everything required for your salvation has already been accomplished by the death of Jesus Christ at Calvary?
A new thing can mean different things to different people, depending on their current state. Have you been living in abject poverty in the past years? Do you work like an elephant but eat like an ant? Has your mortgage repeatedly failed or is your business crumbling under financial difficulties? Read 2 Corinthians 8:9 and believe what it says. For a user of this devotional to whom the enemies have said there is no way of escape, the Lord is saying you should not remember the former things nor consider the things of old. Why? It is because this year, that sickness that has devoured your finances shall not remain in your body. This year, the status of those who desire a godly and blissful marriage will change for the better, and those considered barren will experience fruitfulness. However, for you to partake of the new thing God has promised, you must heed His words to Martha in John 11:40:
“…Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?”
In this new year, the One who brought forth water from the rock will bring forth the good desires of your heart in Jesus’ Name
Open Heaven 1 January 2019 Tuesday Prayer Point:
Father, I thank you for bringing me to the beginning of another year. Please fulfill your promise to do a new thing in my life, beginning from today, in Jesus’ Name.
Open Heaven 1 January 2019 Tuesday Hymn 1: There Shall Be Showers of Blessing
1 There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Saviour above.
Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
2 There shall be showers of blessing—
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
3 There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
4 There shall be showers of blessing;
O that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
5 There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry Launches Protest after Jordanian Spokeswoman Steps on Israeli Flag
Israel’s Foreign Ministry has issued a protest after a Jordanian spokeswoman was photographed stepping on the Israeli flag during a meeting in Amman.
The ministry said it was a “desecration” of the flag.
The ministry added that it “looks gravely upon the act of disrespect toward the Israeli flag committed by a minister in the Jordanian government in the engineers’ union building in Amman.”
The flag is painted on the floor of the headquarters of Jordan’s professional unions in Amman, according to Reuters. Jumana Ghunaimat, Jordan’s minister for media affairs and communications, walked over the painted flag Thursday on her way to a meeting with Jordanian Prime Minister Omar al Razzaz and union representatives.
The flag was reportedly painted on the building’s floor years ago to encourage people to step on it. It also has painted footprints printed across it.
The countries of Israel and Jordan have a peace agreement, but the two countries share a hostile relationship at times, according to reports.
Jordan’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Qatarneh said Jordan respects the 1994 peace treaty and Ghunaimat entered a private building by its main entrance to attend the meeting.
Prime Minister Razzaz entered through a back door to avoid walking on the flag.

Real-World Witches Are Upset at Trump’s Use of ‘Witch Hunt’
Real-world witches are upset at President Trump’s use of the phrase “witch hunt,” which he often tweets in reference to the Mueller investigation.
David Salisbury, author of the book Witchcraft Activism, calls use of the term “really disgraceful.”
“Thousands of people were executed in Europe on suspicion of witchcraft,” Salisbury told CNN, which ran a tongue-in-cheek segment by Jeanne Moos on the subject. Salisbury is initiated into Wicca, which is considered a religion.
Nineteen people were executed during the Salem witch trials in colonial Massachusetts
“A total WITCH HUNT with massive conflicts of interest!” Trump Tweeted in early 2018.
A total WITCH HUNT with massive conflicts of interest!
One unidentified witch told CNN, “There’s a lot to be offended by by Donald Trump. … His use of the term ‘witch hunt’ is very low on that list of priorities for most witches. But nevertheless, it does demonstrate his ignorance, as usual.”
Salisbury said witches are divided on Trump’s terminology.
“Many are mad, and the rest are rolling their eyes,” he told The Daily Beast.
One of those who is upset is witch and author Kitty Randall.
“To have him compare his situation to the worst period in our history is just infuriating,” Randall told The Daily…
Facebook Apologizes after Banning Franklin Graham for ‘Hate Speech’
Evangelist Franklin Graham was banned from Facebook last week over a post he wrote two years ago and now Facebook is apologizing.
The evangelist took to Facebook on Friday to disclose to his followers that he had been banned from Facebook for 24 hours after Facebook determined that a 2016 post about the North Carolina House Bill 2 – the bathroom bill – violated community standards.
He wrote, “Well, now we know. Facebook has a secret rulebook for policing speech. I was banned from posting on Facebook last week for 24 hours. Why? Because of a post from back in 2016 about North Carolina’s House Bill 2 (the bathroom bill).”
Graham noted that Facebook deemed that the post contained “hate speech.”
The evangelist then posted a copy of the 2016 post to his Facebook page and asked, “Do you see any hate speech here?”
The post read, “Bruce Springsteen, a long-time gay rights activist, has cancelled his North Carolina concert. He says the NC law #HB2 to prevent men from being able to use women’s restrooms and locker rooms is going ‘backwards instead of forwards.’ Well, to be honest, we need to go back! Back to God. Back to respecting and honoring His commands. Back to common sense.”
It continued, “Mr. Springsteen, a nation embracing sin and bowing at the feet of godless secularism and political correctness is not progress. I’m…
Archbishop Thomas Becket had been murdered in the cathedral just a few years earlier on the orders of King Henry II. Becket was made a saint in 1173.
Dr Wells believes the timing of the great fire is too much of a coincidence. “The fire opened up a space for the construction of an elaborate crypt for pilgrims wanting to venerate the newly created St Thomas Becket.
“It is circumstantial but it fits very nicely into dates. This was a way to give them this beautiful elaborate place (for their) new saint.”
Dr Wells, from York University, says written accounts of the fire provide additional evidence. She regards the description in the Chronicle of Gervase of Canterbury as being suspiciously neat, as if he was trying to divert attention from the possibility of arson.
“The fire occurred, allegedly, or so Gervase tells us from a few timber framed houses which were on the border of the monastery. And supposedly the wind blows over.
“It’s all very ‘fitting’, I suppose is the word. And I’m looking at other evidence to see if that ties in nicely and does (the theory of arson) work.”
Dr Wells argues the fire and subsequent building of the new crypt may have been part of rivalry between the cathedrals of Canterbury and Durham. At the time, Durham was the top destination for pilgrims with relics of England’s most venerated saint, St Cuthbert.
But the murder of Archbishop Becket created a new reason for visiting Canterbury to pray at…
Parents Pull Kids from the Boy Scouts, Choose Faith-Based Organization Instead
More and more Christian parents are pulling their kids from the Boy Scouts of America in exchange for a faith-based organization, CBN News reports.
According to the outlet, many Christian parents who do not agree with the new secular policies of BSA are pulling their kids out of the century-old scouting organization and opting for Trail Life USA, a faith-based alternative.
Since the BSA policy change in 2015 that allowed gay adults to lead boy scout troops and the 2017 decision to allow girls and transgender boys to join troops, many Christian parents have moved away from the organization that once emphasized the importance of a nuclear family.
According to World, Trail Life, which was founded in 2014, has seen significant growth since these decisions were made. The outlet reports that the organization now has over 27,000 members and around 800 troops across all 50 states.
CBN News reports that policy changes also seemingly led the Boy Scouts to lose 425,000 members.
Trail Life CEO Mark Hancock offered World a reason for the Boy Scout’s decline in membership noting that the organization had lost their moral compass. He told the outlet, “Any organization that takes steps that appear to indicate they’ve forgotten who they are and who they serve is in danger of losing their way.”
Trail Life USA, he argued, has its moral compass pointing toward…
