Teens Open Heavens 27 July 2018 – Truly Teachable?

Topic: Truly Teachable? [Teens Open Heavens 27, July 2018]

Memorise: Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: – Proverbs 6:6

Read: Proverbs 6:6-8 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Psalm 50-52, Acts 27:1-25

MESSAGE:

A wise person is identified by what he fears and what hears. If you fail to fear God as a teenager because of men, you are not wise. A wise person is also identified by his/her ability to learn. The ability to learn a lesson from little things and the big things will go a long way in making you wise. Do you pay attention to your parents at home when they teach you valuable life lessons? Do you pay attention to your teachers in class? You must always pay close attention to learn whenever you are being taught anything.

As a teenager, are you humble enough to learn from someone younger than you? If you are struggling with a particular subject in school, and your junior is good at it and is willing to teach you, you should be humble enough to learn from him/her. Being teachable and humble go together, and these are virtues that God likes to see in His children. How teachable are you?

Key Point: How truly teachable you are is measured by how much you can learn, not just from your superiors, but also from your subordinates. Learn from every experience.

Hymn 2:

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there¡¯s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4.But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Seeds of Destiny 27 July 2018 Daily Devotional – The Products of Quality Relationships

Topic: The Products of Quality Relationships [Seeds of Destiny 27 July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Scripture: We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 1 John 3:14

Thought For The Day: The life that is surrounded by love escapes existence in affliction and adversity.

Maintaining quality relationships is critical to success and destiny fulfilment. Having quality relationships and investing in people is one of the keys to making the most of life. This is because what you release to others in times of peace is released backed to you in times of challenges. Therefore, it is important to live beyond yourself.

Now, what are the benefits of quality relationships?
1. Love is key to life because love activates the life of God in us
When we love people, we escape the realm of premature death and disease to the realm of life. To love is to live while to hate is to die. Loving is living while hating is dying. Love will excuse death and permit life (1 John 3:14).

2. To be surrounded by love is to survive adversity
In Acts 14:20, the Bible says, Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

After Paul the apostle was stoned, the people (his loved ones) stood round about him and he rose up. This means, when you are surrounded by love, no adversity can survive in your life. The life that is surrounded by love escapes existence in affliction and adversity.
Beloved, the Lord will make you a quality person and He will send quality people into your life for quality and profitable relationships in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: The life that is surrounded by love escapes existence in affliction and adversity.

Assignments:
1. Endeavour to be a loving and caring person.
2. Quality relationship begins with you; give and it shall be given you; love and you shall be loved; care and you shall be cared for.

Prayer: O Lord, I receive the grace to love people unconditionally. Help me to live a sacrificial life of caring for and giving to others, Lord, in Jesus’ Name

DCLM Daily Manna 27 July 2018 Daily Devotional – You Must Shine

Topic: You Must Shine [DCLM Daily Manna 27th July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Text: Mark 12:1-12 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner” (Mark 12:10).

MESSAGE:

Believers are daily engaged in the battle of their lives; a war of attrition declared by the devil who is desperate to halt the realisation of God’s purpose in their lives. But God assured us of victory. However, the certainty of defeat is not a disincentive for the devil as it spurs him on to fight more fiercely, forcing lukewarm believers to buckle under. Little wonder Jesus admonished us to “watch and pray”.

Our text is a parable. The vineyard in the parable is the nation of Israel, and the owner of the vineyard is the almighty God Himself. He painstakingly cultivated Israel as the source of salvation to the whole world. But they and their leaders, the husbandmen, frustrated His plans. When He observed their unfaithfulness, He sent His servants – the prophets and priests – to warn them. Rather than amend their ways, they routinely maltreated these servants. Eventually, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, believing that they would show more respect and honour Him. But they conspired and killed Him, on the futile belief that they would then takeover the vineyard. God was left with no other option than to visit them with vengeance, striped them of their privilege and gave their place to the Gentiles. They rejected the Chief Cornerstone on which God laid the foundation of the redemption of man.

Today, some think they can seize the keys of blessings of others and hinder their progress. They might even kill those whom God destined to spread the gospel. But as God’s messenger, be comforted that He has spoken well concerning you. Only let Jesus be the Cornerstone of your life.

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 27 July 2018 – A Great House (I)

TOPIC: A Great House (I) (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Friday, 27 July 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 2:19-21

MEMORY VERSE: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”Romans 12:1

The MESSAGE:

A house is a living space, a dwelling place, a place of abode and a building. Houses are of different kinds, types, sizes, structures and architectural designs. A house in the Bible includes a synagogue, a temple, a sanctuary, and the human body (2 Corinthians 6:16). The focus of this devotional is human body as house. The Bible says, you are a house, a temple of God. The question now is what type of a house are you? God is interested in living inside you as a house. He wants to be the one that people will see when they are looking for you. Even when the powers of darkness decide to search your life, they are supposed to see God reigning on your temple. 1 Corinthians 6:19 explains that your own very body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. That is, a place where the Holy Spirit intends to stay in order to direct the affairs of your life.

Our Memory Verse enjoins that we should present our bodies to God as a living sacrifice because we are built as living house for the Spirit of God to occupy. Remember that where the Spirit of God is, there is liberty. The body must be holy before it can be acceptable to God. Until our temple is holy and acceptable, we cannot render acceptable service to God.

2 Timothy 2:19-23 says, “In a great house, there are many vessels, some to honour, some to dishonour. The foundation of the Lord stands sure…” The foundation of the house of God must be pure, holy and strong. The strength of the foundation of the house of God is based on the quality and quantity of the word of God that is used to build it. Psalm 11:3 says that the foundation of the righteous can be destroyed, but thank God for Jesus Christ who has laid a new foundation with His eternal blood. If your foundation is polluted, the blood of Jesus is available to purge it and everything built on it.

Some great “houses” have been taken over by traders and strangers such as lying, bitterness, hatred, envy, backbiting, gossip, blackmail, evil thought, some of these “houses” have been turned into a den of thieves (Matthew 21:12-13). Is your “house” like that? (Romans 12:1). Are vessels of honour or dishonour in your houses? Every part of your body is a vessel. Are you using it to glorify God or the devil? 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 says, “For this is will of God, even your sanctification that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour.” You need to sanctify every aspect of your life so that they bring honour to God because the Holy God dwells in the Holy house.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
FOR YOU TO CARRY A POSITIVE ACTION, YOU MUST DEVELOP A POSITIVE VISION.

PROPHETIC WORD:
Power assigned to bring you down shall fail woefully.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. O Lord, create in me a new heart and renew a right spirit within me, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every power working against my journey to my eternal home, release me and die, in the name of Jesus.
3. Contrary spirit dwelling inside of me, be ejected by the fire of the Holy Ghost, in Jesus’ name.

EVENING
4. O Lord, make my body a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to you, in the name of Jesus.
5. Foundational pollution contaminating my spiritual life, be purged by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
6. O Lord, remove it from my life now, anything that will make You to replace me, in Jesus’ name.
7. O Lord, break me and remould me by Your power, in the name of Jesus.

Open Heavens 27 July 2018 – Preparing For Your Flight?

Topic: Preparing For Your Flight? [Open Heavens 27 July 2018 Friday Daily Devotional]

Memorise: “Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.” – 2 Peter 1:14

Read: 2 Timothy 4:6-8 (KJV)

6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Bible in One Year: Nehemiah 7-8, Matthew 9:9-26

Open Heavens 27 July 2018 MESSAGE:

“Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.”2 Peter 1:14

“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.” – 2 Timothy 4:6

It is so amazing to read the words of Peter and Paul in the above verses of scripture. They spoke of their impending deaths as though they were making preparation for a trip to a better country. Contrary to the common human response to issues relating to death, there is no trace of fear or anxiety in their words. We have important lessons to learn about death from these great apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Hebrews 9:27, the Holy Spirit spoke through Paul saying:

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

He also spoke through Peter in 1 Peter 4:7 saying:

“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.”

These two great apostles had no fear of death because they knew that death was just a vehicle to transport them to the glorious place Christ had prepared for them. They could look death in the eye without flinching because they had lived their lives in holiness, doing the will of God from a heart of love. They lived a victorious life over the devil, and were not held bound by the world with all its trappings. They knew with certainty that death would only be a passage of life in eternity, and that once they closed their eyes in death they would be carried into the presence of Jesus by His holy angels. Death and the grave had no power over them, and they could truly say:

“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” – 1 Corinthians 15:55

God deliberately gave us these two apostles as examples so that we would learn from their attitude. We who are alive today are to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, appropriating the victory He has won for us over death by shedding whatever fear of death we may still have. Christ has indeed delivered us from the fear of death (Hebrews 2:15). His expectation is that we will begin to make preparations for our flight to eternity, either by death or by rapture. Finally, in the words of Amos 4:12, I plead with you today: “PREPARE TO MEET YOUR GOD!”

Key Point: What is your attitude towards death, and are you prepared to take a flight to glory through it?

Kenneth & Gloria Copeland 27 July 2018 Daily Devotional – Be Separate

Topic: Be Separate [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland 27 July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. – 2 Corinthians 6:17

We’re surrounded by a world which is ruled for the most part by Satan. How can we avoid getting caught up in it? How can we stand apart?

You’ll find the answer in John 17:17. There Jesus was speaking to the Father about all those who would believe on Him. “Sanctify them through thy truth,” He says. “Thy word is truth.” Sanctify means “to separate unto.” So Jesus was saying, “Separate them by the Word.” The Word separates!

When you initially believed the Word of God, you were born again. You were separated spiritually from the kingdom of darkness and separated to the kingdom of Light. Now that’s where a lot of people stop. They let the Word of God do its initial separating work and then go right on living like everyone else. Spiritually, they’re still separated from death. But physically and mentally, they’re up to their necks in it. They’re poor. They’re sick. They’re worried. They’re confused. They’re upset. In other words, they’re just like everyone else in the world.

But if you’ll give the Word of God first place in your life, it will continue to separate you from the poverty and the anxiety and the sickness and the hatred and the darkness of your old habitat.

There’s something else that the Word of God will do for you too. It will not only separate you from the things of this world, it will separate you unto the things of God.

You can’t simply separate yourself from any old destructive habit without separating yourself to something else. You can’t turn away from the things of the world unless you turn unto something stronger. I’m telling you, you can scream and squall and kick the altar bench and everything else trying to get rid of the sin in your life. You can cry, “Dear God, take this sin away from me.” But all the begging in the world won’t separate you from your sin. It’s the Word that does it!

Make a decision to give the Word first place in your life. Make it a quality decision, a decision from which there is no retreat. Lock in to the Word and let the Word do its work. Let it separate you from the things of the world and to the things of God.

Andrew Wommack 27th July 2018 Daily Devotional – Negatives Become Positives

Topic: Negatives Become Positives [Andrew Wommack 27th July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Luke 15:18 “I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee.”

Text: Luke 15:18-19

This is a good example of true repentance. This son did not claim any goodness of his own or try to justify his actions, but he humbled himself and appealed to the mercy of his father. Likewise, we cannot approach God in self-righteousness, but we have to humble ourselves, put all of our faith in a Savior, and turn from our wicked ways (2 Chr. 7:14). That is true repentance.

Repentance is a necessary part of salvation. Repentance may include godly sorrow, but sorrow does not always include repentance. Repentance is simply a change of mind accompanied by corresponding actions.

There is a godly type of sorrow and an ungodly type of sorrow. Godly sorrow leads to repentance. Ungodly sorrow, or the sorrow of this world, just kills.

Our culture has rejected all “negative” emotions. But God gave us the capacity for these negative emotions and there is a proper use of them.

People should feel bad about sin. There should be sorrow over our failures. However, this sorrow should lead to repentance, then when forgiveness is received, our sorrow should be cast upon the Lord (Isa. 53:4).

The sorrow experienced by those who do not turn to God produces only death.

They grieve over their situation because they don’t turn to God (that’s repentance). Christians should only have sorrow until they repent. Once repentance has come, we need to appropriate the forgiveness and cleansing that are already ours through Christ (1 Jn. 1:9). The positive change that our sorrows led us to, changes our attitude towards the things that caused us sorrow. Negatives become positives through Jesus.

Billy Graham 27th July 2018 Daily Devotional – Give and Take

Topic: Give and Take [Billy Graham’s Devotional Friday July 27, 2018]

Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. — Ephesians 6:24

Certain relationships in life require from the parties involved only moderate degrees of devotion. A certain degree of reserve and distance seems to be suitable in such relations as these. But there are other relationships in life where all this is changed when friendship becomes love. Two hearts give themselves to each other to be no longer two, but one. Instead of being separated, their interest and paths are now together. The reserve and the distance suitable to mere friendships is fatal in real love. Love gives all and must have all in return. The wishes of the other party become binding obligations; and the deepest desire of each heart is to know every secret wish and longing of the other, in order that it may do all in its power to gratify those desires. Is that the kind of love, affection, and obedience you have for Christ?

Prayer for the Day: Jesus, I say I love You and yet so often it is a selfish, “taking” love. Let me love You in such a way that Your desires will be mine.

Daughter describes devastating toll of prison on Andrew Brunson as the US pastor moves to house arrest

Jacqueline Furnari said her father, Andrew Brunson from North Carolina, lost at least 50lb while in jail but he feels “blessed” to suffer for his Christian faith.

She was quoted by the Christian Post as saying: “[He] has been permanently changed by this experience.

“Even when this ordeal is over, he will never be the same person that he was.”

On Wednesday, a court decided Brunson, who leads Izmir Resurrection Church, could leave his cell and be placed under house arrest.

Mrs Furnari told guests at a US State Department event raising awareness of religious persecution that missing out on time with family was the hardest part of her father’s experience in jail.

Appearing at the inaugural State Department Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, she also criticised the “ridiculous testimony” of prosecution witnesses called to give evidence in the trial.

She went on to say: “In his trial last week, my father forgave the witnesses who falsely testified against him,…

People Still See Key Differences Between Genders, Pew Poll Finds

People Still See Key Differences Between Genders, Pew Poll Finds

The media and the academy may be blurring the differences between men and women, but most Americans aren’t buying it, according to a Pew poll.

The Pew Research Center released a report July 24 showing that adults still use traditional words to describe the two genders.

“Protective,” “provider,” “father” and “honorable” were the positive words used most often to describe men, while “multitasking,” “brain,” “beautiful” and “maternal” were the positive words used most often to describe women.

“People said traits related to strength and ambition are especially valued for men in society and that compassion, kindness and responsibility are particularly valued for women,’ Pew added.

The report was based on data Pew released in 2017 that also found that most adults see key differences between the genders. In that data:

  • 84 percent of men and 89 percent of women said the genders express their feelings differently.

  • 69 percent of men and 67 percent of women said the genders are basically different in their hobbies and personal interests.

  • 76 percent of men and 75 percent of women said the genders are different in their physical abilities.

The reports were based on surveys of 4,573 people conducted Aug. 8-21 and Sept….
